God does not comfort us to make us comfortable, but to make us comforters.
- Dr. Jowett
Sometimes it the hardest thing to do and it may even seem dang near impossible.. ... waiting that is! When you know you have things to take care of and projects to complete, bills to pay and your family to manage, your faith and your health tend to want to take a back seat. You find yourself pacing and praying, wondering why things aren't moving fast enough. Looking for a light at the end of a seemingly neverending dark tunnel. I know how it feels. Working hard for that blessing that you will not have room enough to recieve only to feel like you'll never recieve it.
It only seems that way. That is not what God has in store for you. Your pain, your sweat, your tears.........they mean more to God then you will ever hope to know. He knows your worries and your frets. We often forget that God knows everything about us......but we will never found out everything about God! He sees what we cant possibly imagine. He knows what is beyond our mental limits all the things that our human minds can't wrap around. He understands our bewilderment as well as our need to try to solve our own problems.
God has promised us many things. Above all he has promised that he would never leave us puzzled for long. He says in Isaiah 48:6 (RSV) " From this time forth, I make you hear new things, hidden things which you have not known." It is okay to be frustrated!! Its okay to be a little angry at your circumstances ( not with God tho!) and it is okay to feel helpless, hopeless even down a little. It is just not okay to stay there! It is in these moments when our spiritual feelings are wrecked and fleeting and we are open to just how human we are that God steps in. In our despair we cry " Lord have mercy" and he hears and he does. He has all the grace and mercy we will ever need.
It seem impossible right now. It is seems like things might not ever better or easier, but keep holding on to Gods word. Keep holding on to what you know, Gods grace.....Gods mercy.....and most certainly, His power to make you Stand!
This of course has been the Word!
