The More you know the better!!!!

As I mentioned this is probably not what you came here for.  This is after all supposed to be a motivational site.  But, the more we live with our pain the more we need to know how to ease it.  We all know that living with it is not fun but but we have to remember to network.  Our friends and our family and Lord knows even our doctors need to know how we feel.  The less stess we put on ourselves the better. Here is a quick check list that I found to be helpful to me.  I pray that it's helpful to you!!

  1. Let someone know how you feel!!!!  Communication is key.  As everyone who knows me can tell you, I get angry really easy when I'm in pain.  When someone asks how you feel, answer the questions.
  2.  Ask them to ask!!  In response to the first point, It's not a matter of pitty to ask people to ask you how you feel. It is a mtter of communication,  if they don't ask, offer it up.  A little set aside pride now can avoid erruptions later.
  3. Control your anger.   We all know that the angrier we get, the more we hurt, not just ourselves but  the people we love.  Pain is real and when you feel pain, nothing else matters.  Maybe it's time to change that!!!  Close your mouth, take a deep breath and think-----before you speak.
  4. Make that doctors appointment.  I know I have been told that there is not much a doctor can do until new symptoms develope, but it is key to make a doctors appointment at least every 3-4 months for blood work as a lot of the meds we take affect our liver.
  5. Track your symptoms.  Start right now with things that bother you on  regular basis.  Not the minor pain, but things like frequent shooting pains in your legs or constant tight muscles that take at least 10 minutes to work out when you get up in the morining. Take a list to your doctor each visit so they have it on record.  Keep a copy for yourself and add new symptoms as they occur.
  6. Keep a list of medications.  Take this with you where ever you go.   Keep it in your wallet or purse.  List the name of the medication or supplement, the miligram, the dosage and when you take it and the name of the doctor who gave prescribed it to you.
  7. Take time for yourself.  What ever it is that makes you happy, set aside a time every week to do something for your self, by yourself.
  8. Visit the links page!!! They maybe links that you have been to some of them may not be. Take a look and contact me with any links you may want to add!!  Just click here to get to the links page!
